BOTANICAL  NAME : IXORA CHINESIS

FAMILY: Rubiaceae

 

SYNONYMS:

 

ENGLISH: Flame tree of the woods, Scarlet Ixora,

HINDI: Cheeneeiksora

TAMIL: Cīṉaikcōrā

TELUGU: Cainīsiksōrā

 

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS:

 The major constituents of triterpenes were ursolic acid (27.34%), oleanolic (20.16%) and lupeol (15.10%). Ixora coccinea flower is of ursolic acid chemotype.

 

USES:

   Used for hypertension

   Anaemia and general debility

   It is helpful for the bone marrow

   The plant is used to treat abscesses

   Wounds

   Rheumatism

   Bruises

   Further, Ixora Chinensis can be utilised as a resolvent and anodyne

   Feathery leaves, ranging from 3 to 6 inches in length, and produce large clusters of tiny

         flowers in the summer

    Antioxidative
