BOTANICAL  NAME : IXORA CHINESIS

FAMILY: Rubiaceae

 

SYNONYMS:

 

ENGLISH: Flame tree of the woods, Scarlet Ixora,

HINDI: Cheeneeiksora

TAMIL: Cīṉaikcōrā

TELUGU: Cainīsiksōrā

 

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS:

 The major constituents of triterpenes were ursolic acid (27.34%), oleanolic (20.16%) and lupeol (15.10%). Ixora coccinea flower is of ursolic acid chemotype.

 

USES:

❖   Used for hypertension

❖   Anaemia and general debility

❖   It is helpful for the bone marrow

❖   The plant is used to treat abscesses

❖   Wounds

❖   Rheumatism

❖   Bruises

❖   Further, Ixora Chinensis can be utilised as a resolvent and anodyne

❖   Feathery leaves, ranging from 3 to 6 inches in length, and produce large clusters of tiny

         flowers in the summer

❖    Antioxidative
